Trip Is Over
Well, we are home. In fact, we’ve been home for more than two weeks. We didn’t post from the road because the wifi connections were bad, then the laptop decided to die. We haven’t posted since we got home because we’ve been recovering and very busy.
It was a grand two weeks. We enjoyed it up until the next to the last day. We were ready to be home, but still hundreds of miles away. Jim had us detour to Omaha because it’s a great train center. Then he found our hotel was about an hour from the actual trains. He was disappointed. I was just glad to have a room and a chance to relax out of the car. He searched for trains on the road the next day without much success. We spent the last night in Peoria, IL and were glad to be headed home the next day.
Still, we have great memories of the trip and LOTS of pictures. We enjoyed Washington State immensely. We also spent the night in Missoula MT where we had dinner and visited with our cousin, Ken Mabry. Then we went through Yellowstone Park because Jim had never been there. After an overnight stay at Buffalo Wyoming, we stopped in South Dakota to visit with my grandson Brad Brantley and his family. He is in the Air Force and stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. They cooked us a great meal and we spent the evening visiting with them. After that, we were ready to be home, but we were still two days away.
Below are a random sampling of photos from the trip.
